Suwon FC reveal special ‘Flower of Suwon’ kit for AWCL

In a WK League first, Suwon FC players will play their continental fixtures in a special edition AWCL kit, designed to represent Suwon and Korea on the Asian stage

Suwon FC have revealed a special edition kit for their upcoming AFC Women’s Champions’ League campaign. The ‘Flower of Suwon’ kit will be worn by the club’s women’s team when they head to Myanmar next month for the group stage of the 2025-26 AWCL, and is also available for fans to pre-order online.

There are home and away versions of the ‘Flower of Suwon’ kit, with both field and goalkeeper kits available for fans to purchase. The home kit is in Suwon FC’s signature red and blue stripes, with an azalea pattern, hence ‘Flower of Suwon’. The azalea is the official flower of Suwon City and is intended to be a visual representation of “The flowers of Suwon never fall”, a slogan of Suwon FC supporters group Fortress. Inspired by the floral patterns of traditional Korean clothing, the AWCL kit has been designed to represent Korea and the city of Suwon. The azalea pattern also features on the white away shirt, and both versions of the goalkeeper kit.

With the release of this kit, Suwon FC become the first WK League club to have a special uniform for the AWCL. Appearing in the first edition of the tournament last year, Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels used an adapted version of their WK League kit. In a video posted to Suwon FC’s Instagram, vice captain Song Jae-eun stated that the players originally assumed they would similarly wear their league home kit with English names for the AWCL, and were excited to hear about the special kit. It is standard for men’s teams in Korea’s K League to release special edition kits for continental competitions.

In addition to the unique design, the ‘Flower of Suwon’ shirts feature AFC and AWCL patches on the sleeves and a Taegukgi (Korean national flag) above the club crest. For AFC competition, players’ names are written in English, with Korean players using their forenames. For fans ordering a kit, the patches are included as standard but player marking (name and number) costs extra. Custom marking in Korean or English is available.

For those hoping to get their hands on the ‘Flower of Suwon’ special edition kit, all versions of the shirt can be found on Suwon FC’s online shop. The club is taking orders until 13:00 on 3rd November, with kits expected to start shipping on 24th November, by which time Suwon FC will either have qualified for the quarter finals of the AWCL, or been knocked out of the competition altogether. Note that refunds and exchanges are not possible except in the case of a faulty product, and the club does not have plans to make the shirts available for purchase again at a later date.
