KWFF to host 2025 awards ceremony

The KWFF Awards will highlight the achievements of youth teams and players and shine a spotlight on the stars of the 2025 WK League

The Korea Women’s Football Federation (KWFF) has announced that the 2025 KWFF Awards will be held at 14:00 on Wednesday 10th December, following the 2026 WK League draft in the morning. According to the federation, the awards ceremony will be split into two parts, with the first half celebrating teams and players in the youth (U-12, U-15, U-18 and University) system and the second half focused on the WK League.

A 2025 WK League ‘Best XI’ will be honoured, and awards will also be given for most goals and most assists. The KWFF will also name an overall MVP based on this season’s achievements. As part of this year’s awards ceremony, the KWFF will also launch the new ‘Dream Award’, a scholarship programme for upcoming footballers from disadvantaged backgrounds. The aim of the Dream Award is to give young players facing economic hardships or institutionalised discrimination more freedom to focus on their training.

The KWFF has hosted annual awards ceremonies since 2022, albeit with less distinction between the youth categories and the WK League. In previous years, players have spoken out about their dissatisfaction with the lack of recognition afforded to the WK League by the KWFF, describing professional athletes having to “stand at the back because there was no room” at the ceremony. In response to last year’s event, at which a WK League Best XI was not part of proceedings and only a small handful of awards were given out, the Korea Pro Footballers’ Association (KPFA) put on their own ceremony to honour players’ achievements.

The 2025 KWFF Awards will be streamed live on Youtube via iTop21Sports.
