The KWFF yesterday announced its partnership with broadcaster Maxports, with the channel set to add WK League matches to its lineup, which already features K League 2 and the H League (handball).
According to the KWFF and Maxports, the two parties signed an MOU that will see 2026 WK League matches broadcast on cable television, in addition to existing online streaming. Maxports will also show repeats of WK League matches and produce online content for the league, in order to bring women’s football to a wider viewership.
Maxports, which was established in 2023 by the K League and the Korea Handball Federation, will also broadcast some W Korea Cup matches, including tonight’s clash between Suwon FC and Gyeongju KHNP.
KWFF president Yang Myungseok described the deal as a significant step in efforts to “improve awareness of the WK League” and “expand the base of women’s football” by increasing access to women’s football and related content.
Television viewers in South Korea can find Maxports via KT Genie TV (167), SK Btv (981), LG Hello Vision (129), and KT SkyLife (215). Viewers both in Korea and elsewhere will still be able to watch matches and highlights via the KWFF on YouTube.
