Suwon FC last week announced that striker Haruhi Suzuki has renewed her contract with the club, confirming that she will return to play for the side after completing treatment and recovery for the injury she picked up in Suwon’s Round 16 clash with Hwacheon KSPO.

26-year-old Suzuki, whose previously played for Tokyo Verdy Beleza in Japan’s WE League, made her WK League debut last year with Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels. She transferred to Suwon at the start of the season and has quickly become a star player, even in a team of star players.

Suzuki is leading the 2026 WK League golden boot race, having scored 12 of Suwon’s 44 goals so far this season. She is also credited with four league assists, and contributed to the goal tally in Suwon’s AWCL campaign, scoring in both the quarter- and semi- finals.

She was substituted off in the second half of Suwon’s home match against Hwacheon KSPO on 17th July after a mid-air collision left her on the ground clutching her right knee. She is currently in Japan receiving treatment for a cruciate ligament injury and is expected to be out of action for several months, but the news of her contract renewal in spite of this is indicative of the mutual commitment between Suzuki and Suwon FC.
