KWFF launches official app

The KWFF this week launched its official app, where fans can keep up with the latest WK League news.

The KWFF this week launched an official app for fans and followers of the WK League and other domestic women’s football competitions to keep track of fixtures, results, and news. Available in Korean and English, the software is essentially an app version of the KWFF’s existing website.

Smartphone users can download the app via Google Play or the App Store by searching for either ‘KWFF’ or ‘한국여자축구연맹’ (Note: We have tried both, and found that both search terms seem to work on the App Store, but only ‘KWFF’ works on Google Play). The app interface looks virtually the same as the mobile version of the KWFF website. Users can login to access their matchday QR code, view their personal attendance history, and vote for Queen of the Round. Note that creating an online KWFF account requires mobile phone verification and is therefore limited to those who are resident in South Korea.

This is the latest in a series of moves by the KWFF to update its online presence and increase direct interaction from fans. The federation’s website is almost unrecognisable compared to the version introduced part way through last season, never mind the archaic homepage still in use before that. The KWFF has also revived its social media — posting fixtures, results, and important updates may seem like the bare minimum, but again, this is a huge improvement on the state of affairs in early 2025. Last month, the federation also signed an MOU with entertainment tech company BIGC, promising to “create new business models” and “expand the fan experience”.
