The WK League transfer window opened on Monday (15th June) and we have already seen the first moves of the summer as Noh Jinyoung signs with Gyeongju KHNP and Ko Dayeong moves south to Gangjin.
South Korea international Noh made her WK League debut with Sejong Sportstoto in 2021 before joining military team Sangmu, where she has been a standout player in recent seasons. She was formally discharged from the army at the end of April, having decided to leave Sangmu to focus exclusively on football. Gyeongju KHNP this afternoon announced that they have signed the 25-year-old defender.
At KHNP, Noh will play alongside several familiar faces from international duty, including Jang Selgi and Lee Youngju. The club had a poor start to the 2026 season, failing to win a WK League match until Round 9. In recent weeks, Gyeongju have climbed out of eight place with a three-match winning streak, although that could come to an end tonight when they face defending champions Hwacheon KSPO.
Gyeongju have meanwhile waved goodbye to forward Ko Dayeong, who has left the club after three and a half years, and 41 WK League appearances. Ko, who was selected by KHNP in the first round of the 2023 WK League draft following success with Daeduk University and South Korea’s youth teams, has joined Gangjin Swans. After picking up a few points earlier in the season, including with a surprise upset away against Suwon FC, the Swans have now lost five matches in a row and find themselves at the bottom of the league table.
The transfer window is open until Friday, 24th July.
