South Korea international midfielder Song Jae-eun has joined Turkish side Trabzonspor in her first move away from the WK League since debuting in 2021.
29-year-old Song was selected by Suwon FC at the 2021 WK League draft and remained there until the end of the 2025 season. During her time at Suwon, she made 101 appearances, scoring seven goals and lifting the WK League trophy in 2024.
Having received her first international call-up late last year, Song left Suwon to join Gangjin Swans ahead of the 2026 WK League season. Returning from her major tournament debut at the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, Song has quickly become a key player for the Swans as they try to stay afloat at the bottom of the table, even scoring twice in her fifteen appearances for the side.
However, with the end of the summer transfer window came the news that Song had not renewed her contract with Gangjin, and would instead be leaving the WK League behind to pursue her first overseas club opportunity. Trabzonspor officially announced Song’s arrival yesterday.
With her move to Turkey, Song follows in the footsteps of former Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angel Jang Chang, who joined Galatasaray last year.
