South Korea international Casey Yujin Phair has left her first professional club Angel City FC behind to sign a deal with Dutch side Feyenoord. The 19-year-old striker will become the first Korean woman to play for the Vrouwen Eredivisie side.

Phair was born in the USA and played youth soccer there before making history in 2023 as the first multiracial player to represent South Korea at a World Cup, the youngest player to appear at a senior World Cup, and one of (if not the) youngest ever to earn a cap for a senior women’s national team.

In case all those records weren’t enough, in 2024 she then became the youngest player to sign with, and the subsequently the second youngest to play for, NWSL club Angel City FC. Phair spent the second half of last year on loan at Swedish club Djurgarden before returning to Los Angeles, where she made her first NWSL start earlier this year.

Phair’s deal with Feyenoord will see her remain there until mid-2029, according to the club’s website. She becomes the sixth South Korean player, and the first South Korean woman, to join the Dutch club. 19-year-old Bae Seunggyun, who has played for South Korea at youth level, is also on the books at the club at present, though he is currently out on loan at FC Dordrecht.

Elsewhere, youngster Park Juhyeong has joined French club Thonon Evian Grand Geneve, linking up with fellow countrywoman Choi Dakyung, who recently signed with the club after a season playing in the Polish league. 22-year-old forward Park joins the Seconde Ligue side from Korea University.
