Gyeongju KHNP further bolster squad, adding Sim Hyojung and Kim So-eun

Sim and Kim are returning to the WK League following stints in Serbia and Australia, respectively.

Following the recent signing of South Korea international Noh Jinyoung, Gyeongju KHNP have further bolstered their squad, this weekend announcing the arrival of midfielders Sim Hyojung and Kim So-eun.

Both Sim and Kim are returning to the WK League after stints overseas. Sim made her WK League debut in 2018 with Sangmu before joining Serbian side Spartak Subotica in February of this year alongside Choi Somi and An Sebin.

Kim started out with Sportstoto in 2019 before spending two seasons with Incheon Hyundai from 2024-2025. Directly after the end of the 2025 WK League season, Kim headed to Australia to play for Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League Women. Kim has not appeared for the Wanderers since January, when a broken foot put her out of action for the remainder of the season.

Sim and Kim join a Gyeongju side that leapt from seventh to fourth in the table this weekend after putting an end to Suwon FC’s winning streak. KHNP started the season poorly under new manager Park Namyeol and still haven’t won at home in 2026, but a recent run of away form indicates that the club could yet be contenders in the playoff race.
