2026 W Korea Cup Round 3 draw

Only four teams remain in the inaugural edition of the W Korea Cup, with the semi-finals set to take place in Icheon next month

The draw for the third round of the 2026 W Korea Cup took place yesterday (11th September), with just four teams left in contention to become the first ever champions of the newly established competition.

All seven WU League teams have either been knocked out or withdrawn from the cup, making way for an all-WK League line-up in next month’s semi-finals.

The first semi-final will see Seoul City take on Suwon FC. Seoul narrowly beat Korea University in the first round of the W Korea Cup and got a free pass in Round 2 following the withdrawal of Ulsan College. Meanwhile, WK League leaders Suwon have had arguably the toughest draw in the competition so far, having to overcome strong opposition from Gyeongju KHNP and Hwacheon KSPO to make it to the final four.

The other semi-final will be contested by Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels and Sejong Sportstoto. Incheon beat Daekyeung University in the first round and Mungyeong Sangmu in the second, with the W Korea Cup providing a glimmer of hope for the Red Angels in what has been a disastrous season for them in the WK League. Sejong, meanwhile, are still vying for a place in the league playoff, and with the last few WK fixtures coming thick and fast in October, Sportstoto may have to choose where to prioritise their efforts as the season reaches its conclusion.

Both semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Sunday 11th October at Icheon Stadium, with Seoul vs. Suwon kicking off at 15:00 and Incheon vs. Sejong at 19:00. The winners will meet in the final, to be held at the same venue on Saturday 21st November, with the kickoff time yet to be confirmed.
